Community Workshops
Free events for learning, connecting, and being in community.
Workshops at OutWellness are a different kind of offering. They’re free, open to the community, and built around the belief that holistic wellness goes beyond physical movement. It’s about whole-person wellness, and that includes access to knowledge, connection, and spaces where you can just be.
Past workshops and events have covered things like queer sex ed, queer menopause, crafting nights, game nights, and karaoke. The programming comes from the community and is shaped by what people actually need and want.
The idea behind the workshop program is rooted in something real: marginalized communities don’t always have access to generational knowledge. OutWellness uses its community to pass that knowledge along, through skill sharing, mutual aid, and events that make space for the full picture of queer and trans life.
All workshops are free and no membership is required to attend.

Frequently Asked Questions About Group Classes and Workshops
No membership is required for either. Drop-in classes are $20 per session, and all workshops are free and open to the community. That said, if you find yourself coming back regularly, a gym membership covers all classes at no extra cost ang fat folks, people with physical disabilities, and others who have felt unwelcome or unseen in traditional gym spaces. If that sounds like you, you’re welcome here.
Yes, and that’s taken seriously here. Every instructor is experienced with modifications, so whether you’re picking up a barbell for the first time or have been training for years, the class works for where you are. You don’t need to have any prior experience to show up.
Identities are not policed at OutWellness. These classes are centered on trans masculine and trans feminine experiences respectively, and they’re open to anyone who feels that a class speaks to them, including non-binary folks and those who are questioning. If you’re unsure whether a specific class is the right fit, feel free to reach out and the team is happy to talk it through.
Wear anything that you feel comfortable moving in! We have folks who are most comfortable in jeans, folks who prefer to workout in Chacos, and folks who like to wear shorts and a tshirt. Whatever feels most comfortable (and safe) for your body is great. If you have a reusable water bottle, you are welcome to bring that. We have a water dispenser and plastic cups on site. We have 2 changing rooms, plus a bathroom. We have signs with a QR code to scan at checkin, please be sure to do that so we can make sure you have filled out all of the appropriate paperwork.
This depends on the workshop! If someone outside of OutWellness is hosting (like our Drag School or Critter Tea Party), then they will have their own signup system. For events like Queer Sex-Ed, you can just show up, we’ve got plenty of room.
There are a few ways to stay in the loop. Monthly calendars are posted on the OutWellness Instagram about a week before each new month starts, so you can plan ahead. There’s also a subscribable calendar link you can add directly to your own calendar and toggle on and off whenever you’d like.
For the most real-time updates, OutWellness has an active Discord community with weekly reminders and announcements. Discord is invite-only to keep the space intentional. Joining typically starts with an in-person visit.
It’s one of the better places to start, honestly. Classes are small, instructors pay attention, and the community here is genuinely welcoming to people who are new to movement or new to group fitness. Nobody is here to perform or compete.
